A stallion that inspires and excites every audience: Bretton Woods won the Bronze medal at the 2011′ World Championship for Five Year-Old Dressage Horses. One year before, he won superior the VSN-Trophy in the Netherlands, where he achieved a 10.0 for his rideability and, prior to this, he placed in front in the 50-day test of KWPN. His former rider said about him: “The best horse I have ever ridden”. Bretton Woods is now trained by Matthias Alexander Rath, who prepares him carefully for the big sport.

Bretton Woods is a large framed stallion but at the same time is equipped with great physical harmony. Under saddle, he is fascinating to watch as he demonstrates his excellent rideability and extraordinary quality of the three paces. In 2011, he won the Bronze Medal at the World Championships of five-year-old dressage horses. Prior to that, he confidently won the 50-day test of the KWPN as well as the VSN Trophy in the Netherlands, where he was awarded a 10,0 for his rideability.

Bretton Woods’s sire Johnson, the 2005′ KWPN Champion Stallion, is himself highly successful in sport with Hans Peter Minderhoud who presented him in the final of the World Championship for Young Dressage Horses in 2007. Meanwhile, this pair could achieve winnings in Inter I competitions and is on the best way to Grand Prix level. Bretton Woods’ dam, Annabel, produced, when bred to Jazz, the licensed stallion Chagall and belongs for years time to the highest ranked mares in the KWPN breeding.

 

His descendants are convincing in arenas worldwide: In the PAVO Cup, Great Lady (Bretton Woods/Osmium) was victorious with the 6-year-olds, Best for Me OLD (Bretton Woods/Latimer) took bronze with the 5-year-olds at BuCha and two more promising offspring – Boccaccio (Bretton Woods/Fürstenball) and Baco Noir (Bretton Woods/De Niro) – were presented and auctioned in December 2017 at the PSI auction.

His talent for collection and outstanding dressage potential has been proven by Bretton Woods himself on the international stage in Intermediaire I and Prix St. Georges. Bretton Woods – an exceptional dressage sire for the demanding dressage sport.
