In 2021, Don Romance PS presented an outstanding first crop of foals with typey, long-legged foals with wonderful dynamic paces.
Don Romance PS was placed at the four-year-old Oldenburg Regional Championships after winning bronze the year before and finishing second of his stallion performance test with top scores. He received 9.0s for canter, walk, rideability, overall impression and character at his 50-day test in Schlieckau.
This extremely charismatic up-and-coming star is the result of the dream genetic combination of Dante Weltino and our exceptional broodmare Gesina.
His sire, Dante Weltino OLD, was part of the Swedish Championship team in 2021 and justified this selection with a 14th place at the Olympic Games in Tokyo/JPN and two eighth places at the European Championships in Hagen a.T.W. In 2017 and 2019, the first Oldenburg Reserve Champion was already part of the European Championship bronze medallist team with Therese Nilshagen/SWE, and was also highly placed in the individual competitions in Gothenburg/SWE and Rotterdam/NED. In 2018, he also came fourth with the Swedish Team and took the tenth place in the individual ranking at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA. Dante Weltino started his career in five and six-year-old classes with serial victories and qualifications for the German Championships for young dressage horses. In 2014, in his first competition season at advanced level, he won 13 times and was placed in the final of the Nuremberg Burg Cup. At the age of eight in 2015, he successfully made his Grand Prix debut, finished fifth in the Frankfurt Louisdor Prize Final and was named VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year in Oldenburg. In 2016, he was selected by Sweden for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro/BRA. Amongst his over 20 licensed sons are Dante Quando OLD, Champion of his stallion performance test and German and Regional Champion, and Dante’s Stern, German Sport Horse Champion Stallion and fourth at the Championships of South Germany. Dante Weltino’s sporting offspring have meanwhile reached the Grand Prix arenas themselves, such as Hanami OLD who was placed fifth in the Louisdor Prize with Sandra Nuxoll/AUT.
His dam El.St. Gesina, produced For Romance I OLD, Oldenburg Champion Stallion, Main Premium winner, Burg Cup finalist, VTV Dressage Stallion and successful in Grand Prix, For Romance II, placed in international Grand Prix competitions at only seven years old, For Romance III de la Gesse, licensed stallion, Fasine OLD (all by Fürst Romancier), Oldenburg Champion Mare, German Champion and P.S.I. record top price, who produced the licensed stallion Fasino (by Foundation), and the mare A la Fasine (by Apache), dam of the licensed stallions HP Valentino and Vincello (both by Vitalis). She also produced our Champion Stallion Feinrich and the Oldenburg Champion Mare Fürstin Gesine (both by Fürst Heinrich), who produced the licensed stallions Visino PS (by Vitalis) and Montrachet PS (by Morricone I). Bred to De Niro, Gesina produced the licensed stallion Desino, bred to Governor, she produced the licensed stallion Golden Romance Malleret PS and bred to Bordeaux, she produced Mount St. John Best of All, British Dressage Champion and placed up to Small Tour level, who is the dam of Best of Mount St. John OLD (by Fürst Romancier), Vice Regional Champion and placed fifth at the German Championships, and of the licensed stallion MSJ Q (by Quantensprung). Gesina’s daughters produced the licensed stallions Sebastino PS (by Secret), Go for Romance PS (by Governor) and the Mecklenburg Champion Stallion Viva Vitalis (by Vitalis).
Through the dam’s sires Sir Donnerhall I and Don Schufro, there is interesting line breeding to the sire of the century Donnerhall and the no less significant half-blood Sandro in the previous generations of Don Romance PS’ pedigree.
His grand-dam Gesine also produced the Reserve Champion Vivaldi’s Schufro (by Vivaldi) and Amadeus de l’Aubois (by Der Designer), who sired in France. Her daughter Sadira de Malleret (by Sir Donnerhall I) produced Helen Langehanenberg’s mare, who is victorious at advanced (S) level, Zaeta de Malleret (by Zonik).
The famous stallion Voltaire also descends from this bloodline.
