Kannan is one of the most demanded show-jumping sires worldwide. He repeatedly led the WBFSH rankings of all show jumping sires and is currently placed fifth. With Nino des Buissonets and Steve Guerdat’s individual win at the Olympic Games in London 2012, Kannan’s success as a sire was again brought to the forefront. Amongst his progeny is the former PSI-horse A Pikachu de Muze, who was sold for 570.000 euros and who won the World Championships of 6-year old show jumpers in 2006. The progeny are successful internationally in unbelievably high numbers: Well beyond 200 of Kannan’s offspring are currently active in the international scene, amongst them Bridgit/Bernardo Alves (BRA), who won Bronze at the Pan-American-Games as well as Kismet who was successful in World Cup qualifiers with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Kiwi du Gibet/Charlotte Bettendorf (LUX), Paille/Steve Guerdat and Oh d’Eole and Quannan-R/Marc Bettinger or Quabri De L’Isle/Pedro Veniss (BRA).

Kannan was internationally successful with Francois Mathy Jun. and Michel Hécart. His ancestors are some of the best show jumping producers worldwide and his progeny are being placed amongst the best at significant tournaments around the globe. Since 2016, Kannan, who has never stood as stallion on German soil, is prize-money millionaire with his successful offspring in Germany (84 out of 153 sport registered Kannan descendants placed at S level). A higher offspring performance density is hard to imagine. As a six-year-old, the outstanding stallion won the traditional “Classic Circuit” in Belgium. As a seven-year-old he became Belgian Champion and in 2000, he made his international debut, being fifth in a Grand Prix. In 2003, he won the Grand Prix of Deauville, was part of the French Team which won the Samsung Super League in 2003 and 2004 and in 2005 he became French Champion. In Kannan’s pedigree are sires of worldwide fame: Voltaire, Furioso II, Nimmerdor, Gotthard, Farn and Le Mexico and he consistently passes on this concentrated performance potential to his progeny.
