Every now and then the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping department is considering stallions which might be suited to further improve the Holsteiner breed, in view of their exceptional own performance, ancestor performance, a conformation in line with the requirements of the Holsteiner breeding goal, and offspring performance. In the past, this have been French stallions like Quidam de Revel, Diamant de Semilly and Kannan. Over the past years, these deliberations have focused more and more on Qlassic Bois Margot. Successful already at 7-year-old, he started his international career under Simon Delestre, and has achieved top results at the highest level with great consistency. His life earnings amount to more than one million Euros, due to winning for example the Bordeaux grand prix and placing 2nd in the Rolex Grand Prix at the CHI Geneva. Moreover, he was on the winning French team at the Caen World Equestrian Games.
Same as virtually all international top horses, Qlassic comes from a very special dam line boasting generations of exceptional athletic prowess. His sire L’Arc de Triomphe has produced highly successful offspring other than Qlassic Bois Margot, like for example Rokfeller de Pleville (2016 Rio Olympics) Rafale de Forets, winner of the Fontainbleau 6-year-old Jumping Horse Championship in 2011 and now with results to 1.50m under Pius Schwizer. Moreover, his show jumping offspring include 90 CSI winners. Qlassic’s dam is by Galoubet, a stallion generally known to carry ultimate jumping blood. His second dam Source d’Espoir also produced Horizon du Roc, a sport horse successfully shown to CSI5* level under Swiss rider Fabio Crotta. His third dam Coquette also produced Nistria, a horse highly successfully shown in World Cup competitions by Philippe Le Jeune; among other achievements the combination placed 3rd in the Gothenburg World Cup final in 1988.
His fourth dam Flicka is dam to Rocket, one of French rider Janou Lefèbvre’s success horses. The combination’s achievements include a 3rd place at the 1968 Female Riders’ European Championships as well as winning the Derby and the La Baule grand prix on the same weekend. One of Flicka’s daughters, Flickas Girl, in her turn produced Rochet Rouge, individual gold medallist at the 1999 Hickstead Europeans and bronze medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games under Alexandra Ledermann. Qlassic Bois Margot stands out for his quality offspring: from his first foal crop, his son Dumbo des Biches became 2-year-old champion stallion at Saint-Lô in 2015 and his 3-year-old daughters Diva du Leon und Dédicace de Solama won first and second reserve champion mare, respectively, in Lyon in 2016. In 2017, his son Eldorado d’Elle became the shining 3-year-old champion of the French Saint-Lô stallion grading owing to impressive type and charisma as well as exceptional jumping. His first offspring have results at international 1.40m level, like for example Qopilot Bastilly Z under Samy Colman (MAR). This promising jumping talent qualified for the Lanaken World 7-year-old Championship final in 2017 and is to be shown by his co-owner Simon Delestre in the up-coming season. The fact that Qlassic’s direct sire line traces back to Ladykiller, one of the most successful TB jumping sires ever, had been a major aspect for securing the Qlassic blood for Holstein. But the most decisive factor had been a long chat with Simon Delestre during a visit to Holstein. Delestre, rider of Chesall Zimequest and at that time on top of the world jumping rider ranking, had nothing but praise for Qlassic and his offspring. The Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping has stipulated an agreement with Qlassic’s owner, Rodolphe Bonnet, on the sole right of representation in Germany.
