Skovens Rafael has a great heart and a fantastic temper, always willing and cooperative. After the 2007 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing he was described as “An eager and willing stallion with an impressive natural self-carriage. He impresses with his wonderful walk and trot, but his canter is absolutely breathtaking. A gait he masters with great balance and powerful hindquarters”.In his pedigree he displays three generations of Grand Prix stallions: Blue Hors Romanov, Blue Hors Don Schufro and Zorro Z, and in the fourth generation we find the internationally famed sire May Sherif. Skovens Rafael was unbeatable in 2008, winning his way through the qualifying rounds of the Danish championship for young dressage horses and eventually claiming the victory in the final.

At the age of 4 Skovens Rafael was winning the Danish national young dressage horse championship.

At the age of 5 he represented Denmark at the world championships for young dressage horses in Verden in 2009 and landed a respectful 7th place, and at the age of 6 he came 5th in the finals in Verden.

With his first crop of 4-year-olds, Skovens Rafael, put his stamp on the finals. Out of this first crop three offspring made it to the finals and placed 3rd, 4th and 8th at the Danish championships in Odense. His offspring seem to inherit the great rideability he possesses himself. Among his most remarkable offspring are Safir, Tailormade Ralph Lauren, Adrenalin Firfod, Rafaella K and Natasha Møllegård. A son of Skovens Rafael, Springbank VH, supremely won the Swedish Youngster Dressage Championships for 3-year-olds in 2013 whilst the division for 4-year-olds was won by Revolution with U.Bolt as runner-up, both of which are sire by Skovens Rafael. His first licenced son in Danish Warmblood, Adrenalin Firfod, was finally graded in 2013.

At the World Championships for 5-year old young dressage horses in Verden in 2014 his son Revolution became 7th with 8.72 points and won convincingly the 5-year old Championship in Falsterbo, Sweden where U.Bolt came fourth. Yet another son, London ridden by Maria von Essen, won the Swedish Breeders Trophy for 4-year-old dressage horses, and with these unique results Skovens Rafael was honoured Stallion of the Year 2014 and 2015 in Swedish Warmblood.
